Lucknow: Congress party's national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has written a letter to the Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh regarding the army recruitment process being incomplete and not filling up the vacant posts even after the release of the exam results. He told Rajnath Singh that it is the dream of many Indian youth to serve the country by joining the army. The youth work hard for this, but due to the results of recruitment in the army, delay in appointments, the youth are now getting upset.

Priyanka Gandhi has told through the letter that the examination for the recruitment of soldiers in the Air Force (January 2020) was held in November 2020, the results were also released in the same month. After all the tests, the provisional selection list was also issued, but the enrollment list has not been issued yet. He said that the youth associated with the recruitment say that the date of enrollment list is extended again and again. Referring to another issue in the letter, Priyanka Gandhi said that in July 2021, the examination for military recruitment was held. The result of the examination was to be released in August 2021, but the result has not been released yet.

Priyanka Gandhi said that due to lack of recruitment, results and delay in appointments, the age of many deserving youth is passing out. He said that two years relaxation in age limit should be given to the candidates for the prescribed time limit in army recruitment. Referring to the Central Government's reply given in the Lok Sabha in December 2021, Priyanka said that there are 1.25 lakh posts vacant in the army. At the same time, army recruitment has not been taken out for many years. The youth preparing for army recruitment are in trouble. Appealing, he said that recruitment should be done at the earliest for lakhs of vacant posts in the army.
