The two leaders will oversee the work of election management there. Priyanka Gandhi wants the Congress to start preparing for the by-elections now. A three-member committee has also been set up against the leaders who had clashed against the party candidates and defeated the party in the last Lok Sabha elections, which will give its report to Priyanka Gandhi.

On the basis of this report, the party will take strong action against the leaders who have been hit. Congress Legislature Party leader Ajay Kumar Lallu has been made in charge of the UP East organisation's transformation and all changes will be made in his supervision. It may be mentioned that in the past, when Priyanka Gandhi was meeting with the leaders of the East Zone, the coordinator in connection with a district in Varanasi division had pointed out that the district president was a car driver of a big Congress leader.
