NEW DELHI: India's legendary Kabaddi player Ajay Thakur can say a chilling goodbye to international Kabaddi. The Padma Shree awardee has also won the Arjuna Award for his outstanding game. He will then run an academy in his native village, Dabhota, to teach the young men and women of Himachal to Kabaddi. Ajay Thakur is a resident of Nalagarh in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. On DSP in the police, Kabiz Thakur said his dream was to honor Arjuna with an Award.

With the blessings of parents and gurus, being nominated for the Arjuna Award, his dream is coming true. He said he will also play one or two seasons for the Pro-Kabaddi League. After that, the academy will run in Dabhota itself. He was awarded the Padma Shri award on 11th March this year. This is the fourth major honor in the country after Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan award.

He will now be awarded the Arjuna Award. Padmashree Ajay Thakur has played a stung of his talent in the country and abroad. The government has awarded him the post of DSP. His posting is in Bilaspur. Nowadays, he is captaining the Tamil Thalaiwa team in the Pro-Kabaddi League. He is part of the team from Bengaluru and Pune. For the past two seasons, Tamil Thalaiwa has been captaining the team. Ajay has played a key role in the Indian Kabaddi team which also won gold at the 2014 Asian Games. He won the title of Best Raider in the World Cup.
