Islamabad United won the seven games out of ten games in PSL, which helped them top the table in the group stage. It was no different in the qualifier either, when wicket keeper batsmen Ronchi belted an unbeaten 39-ball 94 against Karachi Kings to lead Islamabad's chase which landed them a spot in the final of the tournament which will be played in Karachi.

A target of 155 runs was achieved in just 12.3 overs as the New Zealand wicket keeper batsman was unbeaten in a knock that comprised of five sixes and 12 boundaries, with a strike-rate of over 240. Islamabad beat Karachi by eight wickets which was one of the biggest wins by any team in the competition.

Kiwis wicket keeper batsmen Luke Ronchi started in fine fashion, making his intent clear from the onset as he dispatched Mohammad Amir to the square leg boundary and the mid-wicket boundary off his opening deliveries, with 14 runs coming off the first over of the chase.

Sahibzada Farhan (29) fell soon after, as did Alex Hales (14) soon enough, but Karachi handed Ronchi a third life when Shahid Afridi dropped one after having got both hands to the ball. He punished Mohammad Irfan the next over, rubbing salt on Karachi's wounds belting as many as three boundaries in the 18-run over. With runs coming at express pace, and Ronchi leading the way, Islamabad had little hassle in completing a dominant win.

Brief scores: Karachi Kings 154/4 in 20 overs (Joe Denly 51, Colin Ingram 68*; Mohammad Sami 2-20) lost to Islamabad United 155/2 in 12.3 overs (Luke Ronchi 94*) by eight wickets.
