Public Transport made free for citizens to battle smog in Paris

Paris has been experiencing a dense fog for many days and it’s been the worst of all since a decade, the country might have seen. People are walking around with face masks after which the government has announced, "Paris has made all public transport, residential parking and the Velib' bicycle and Autolib' electric car schemes free to combat high levels of smog." for the third consecutive day.

"Cars are poisoning the air. We need to take preventive measures,"Paris city hall transport official Herve Levife said on Wednesday. In the beginning of this week the government banned the circulation of cars across the city. 

"We want these bans to automatically take effect when the pollution exceeds a certain level, not have to negotiate them with the Government each time," Mr Levife added.

It's been years after which such a ban is implemented for three persistent.
