CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin today expressed serious concerns over the Union Territory of Puducherry making no progress with its present government, the AINRC-BJP alliance.

While addressing wedding of a party functionary at Pattanur near chennai, he said that although there is a government elected by the people in Puducherry, it is not evolving and implementing schemes to serve the people. He said Puducherry also needed a Dravidian form of government like in Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said, "Yes, Puducherry has a tall chief Minister, and he is a good man but he is subservient and acts like a puppet. Should he not be ashamed or tremble with indignation when a Governor was dictating terms to his government".

He said that it was a great shame to the people of Puducherry that a government subservient to the Governor was ruling the territory.

Stalin mentioned the previous DMK and Congress governments when predicting that a DMK government will soon be established in Puducherry.

Regardless of the government, he added, "We need be vigilant to prevent the formation of a communal government in the union territory of Puducherry." Stalin remarked that Puducherry and Tamil Nadu are linked and that Puducherry might be considered the literary centre of Tamil Nadu because Subramania Bharathy was born there. The DMK cadres were urged by the chief minister of Tamil Nadu to win all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 elections, including the Puducherry seat.
