Puducherry Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has announced a number of welfare schemes for the state.  On Friday, she accorded sanction for Rs.29,65,21,500 towards disbursement of Old Age and Destitute pension to 1,54,847 beneficiaries and financial assistance to 20,952 differently-abled beneficiaries to the tune of Rs.4,28,21,200, for the month of June 2021, in the Union Territories of Puducherry.

On June 29, the Lt. Governor had announced sanction of Rs 33.72 crore to the Public Works Department for development of rural roads. she also had approved allocation of Rs 15.91 crore for improvement of rural roads by the Local Administration Department.

According to a statement issued by Raj Nivas here on Friday, the , the Lt. Governor  accorded sanction for release of the fifth instalment of Grants-in-aid for Rs.1,77,333  as state share under SCSP to “Samagra Siksha” for implementation of Teacher Education for the year 2021-22, in the week from 27th June to July 1.

The release said that the Lt Governor sanctioned ipso facto sanction of Rs 93.15 laks to the Puducherry government-sponsored Puducherry Society for the Care of the Aged persons relating to January to March this year.
