Pulwama encounter a shocking hold up for JeM says J-K IGP

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that eradication of most wanted Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist Noor Mohammad Tantray is a success for the security forces and a shocking hold up for the terrorist outfit.

In an interview to ANI, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muneer Khan affirmed that one AK-56, pistol, and some magazines were found from Noor's dwelling and t, o Jawans were wounded throughout the course of the operation.

IGP Khan further informed that the operation that started on Monday had been concluded.

AS per reports the encounter, kicked off in the Karnabal Samboora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district between the militants and the security forces on the wee hours ofTuesday.

Noor, who is an offender in a case, was booked in a Delhi jail for some time in 2003. He was serving his prison term at the Central Jail in Srinagar in anticipation of he jumped his parole in 2015.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, 110 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and 50 RR (Rashtriya Rifles) have been arranged at the site, where the encounter was on track. (NT)
