Pune: A man during PCR call abused Woman officer, arrested

Pune: Displeased with the functioning of the police, a man verbally abused a woman police officer posted in the control room in Pune. The accused, identified as 32-year-old Shivaji Shahji Saminder, has now been arrested by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police. The incident took place on Thursday when the accused called the police control and complained about the poor functioning of the police.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the accused misbehaved with the police constable and said that if the police could not function properly, he closed the control room. A 24-year-old female officer handles calls of senior citizens in the police control room.

A police official said, "Saminder called the control room and accused the police department of not working properly and said that the department should be closed down." The woman constable informed her seniors about the shameful incident after which a complaint was filed against the accused. Later, the police tracked the accused Saminder and arrested him.

Last month, four persons brutally thrashed a police constable for objecting to drinking alcohol at a public place in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Before fleeing from the spot, the youths beat the policemen with lathis. The incident took place in the Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad. Later, all the four accused were arrested by the police.
