Pune: The police tracked and busted two prostitution rackets and successfully rescued four women. Out of the four women, three hail from Thailand and one is from Maharashtra. The police also rescued a minor during the operation

According to the report, the crackdown was performed by the Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch of the Pune Police.   The rackets were operational in two different areas of Pune. The operation took place on Wednesday. The police also received a tip-off about a prostitution racket operational at an apartment complex in Pune. A minor and another woman were rescued from the apartment.

As per the report of Indian Express, the police team raided a spa situated in eastern Pune. The police had received information that a racket that was operational in the spa. Three women from Thailand were rescued from the spa.

The spa owner  and his ally were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections of the Prevention of Immortal Trafficking Act (PITA). Three other people who were arrested by the police were also booked under relevant sections of the IPC and PITA.
