Pune district in Maharashtra reported 1,083 new coronavirus cases on Monday. The total tally mounted upto 10,13,804, while 53 more fatalities pushed the toll to 16,867.

The health department of state stated a total of 2,386 patients were discharged from hospitals in the district during the day. The 1,083 cases reported had 180 from the limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation. Now the count of the COVID-19 rose to 4,69,927 in Pune MC. As many as 246 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from Pimpri-Chinchwad, taking the tally in the industrial town to 250399. While, the number of infections in rural and Pune Cantonment Board areas rose to 2,93,478, he said. As per the official report, 14117 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours to detect the corona positive. Talking about the state, Maharashtra on Monday reported 15077 new COVID-19 cases. It is said by the officials that the cases were the lowest since March 15, taking the caseload to 5746892. The daily count was also a sharp drop from 18,600 infections registered on Sunday. As many as 33,000 patients have been discharged from hospitals during the day. The recovered cases march to 5395370 as per the statement from the health department said. The COVID-19 recovery rate is 93.88 per cent, while the fatality rate is 1.66 per cent.

Reports of different divisions of state:

Mumbai city reported 666 new cases and 29 deaths, and the toll to 14826. The Nashik division reported 3,124 cases, including 1,700 in the Nashik district. The Kolhapur division reported 3,829 cases of coronavirus, including 1,442 in the Kolhapur district. The Aurangabad division recorded 385 infections of the deadly disease, the Latur division 966, the Akola division 873 and the Nagpur division 726, the statement said.
