The last year also saw a big scandal that involved major names from the entertainment industry being unearthed and make headlines. Ever since, there has been a heightened vigil against people who have been indulging, selling or procuring drugs. Now, the police have a powerful support in the voice of Puneeth Rajkumar, who has also shared a message asking people to stay away from drug abuse and asking them to stand in solidarity with the drive against drug abuse by the Bengaluru police.
Tweet By Sandeep Patil IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Bengaluru City Police, "Thanks to @PuneethRajkumar in joining hands with @BlrCityPolice in fight against drugs & calling upon youth to be away from this menace... @CPBlr"
Bengaluru police have been extra vigilant. The police have also made major breakthroughs in different ways of trafficking. Sandeep had told Bangalore Times earlier in the interview, " We have broken through procurement areas that are new - like the dark web. This is a newer phenomenon and we have successfully been able to book four cases, where the procurement has been done from abroad. Our quest to crack trafficking on the dark web is a continuous process, we are continuously monitoring it, we cannot pat our backs and sit with these four cases alone."
The support of bigger stars to their fight against drugs will definitely ensure a bigger push and visibility among the youngsters, who they are targetting.
