Mumbai: An auto driver in Maharashtra's Pune has started receiving death threats for not taking fare from people going to watch the film 'The Kerala Story'. According to reports, the name of the victim is Sadhu Magar, whom the fundamentalists are threatening to behead. According to the report, Sadhu is also being threatened through calls and messages to do the same to Kanhaiyalal tailor of Rajasthan. These threats are coming from foreign numbers. The victim has complained about this to the police and has also given evidence of threats.
In fact, Pune's auto driver Sadhu Magar made a poster on 2 May 2023 announcing not to take money from passengers going to watch 'The Kerala Story'. After the release of this poster, where he was praised by many people, on the other hand, many fanatics are giving death threats over the phone due to his announcement. It is alleged that threats are coming from many parts of the country as well as from foreign numbers. When the victim started blocking the threatening numbers, the extremists started calling from different numbers.
Eventually, the victim Sadhu Magar lodged a complaint in the police station. As evidence, the victim has also handed over the recording of the threats to the police officer. Sadhu Magar told the media that the menace reminded him of Kanhaiyalal of Udaipur and threatened to do the same to him. In the written complaint given to the police, the victim has told about receiving calls from 15 different numbers. He has also submitted some screenshots of WhatsApp in the complaint. Sadhu Magar says that after complaining to the police, some local Hindu organizations have come forward to help him.
Police has assured to investigate and take action on the complaint of the monk. Sadhu Magar is basically a resident of Sholapur district of Maharashtra. Earlier he used to work in a company. 3 years back he bought his own auto and since then he is driving auto to support his family. Sadhus do not take rent even from the soldiers of the Indian Army.
Let us tell you that, while rejecting the petition seeking to stop the release of this film, the Madras High Court has said that this film is not against Islam, but against the terrorist organization ISIS. But, in spite of this, the threats of beheading are being given by the fundamentalists. The court had also said that Hindu ascetics have been shown as smugglers and rapists in many films, but there was no uproar over them, so there is no justification for stopping the release of this film. Let us tell you that, it has been told in the film, how fundamentalists trap non-Muslim girls in their love, then convert them and push them to convert.
