Hoshiarpur: A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Hoshiarpur in Punjab, where a six-year-old innocent was allegedly murdered after being raped. Not only this, the accused burned the dead body of the girl after killing her to hide evidence. The police on Thursday informed that the six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and then murdered. According to the police, the dead body of the girl was found in a house in Jalalpur village of Tanda.
Police said two accused Gurpreet Singh and his grandfather Surjit Singh have been arrested in this case, both are accused of murder, rape and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and protection of children from sexual offences has been arrested. The victim was the daughter of a migrant labourer living in the same village. The victim's father told that the accused Gurpreet took his daughter to his house where he raped her, after which both Gurpreet and Surjeet together killed the girl and burnt her body to hide evidence.
Meanwhile, Tejinder Kaur, Chairperson of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, has taken cognizance of the matter herself and has sought a detailed report from Senior Superintendent of Police Hoshiarpur by 26 October.
