Amritsar: After registering a landslide victory in the recently held assembly elections in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has once again raised its clout. All five candidates of the AAP government have gone unopposed in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in the state. It was time for the Punjab Rajya Sabha to withdraw the nominations till 3 pm on Thursday.

The AAP had declared MLA Raghav Chadha, former spinners Harbhajan Singh, Sandeep Pathak, Sanjeev Arora and Ashok Mittal as its candidates from Delhi's Rajinder Nagar assembly constituency. At the same time, no other political party had fielded candidates for all the five seats for the Rajya Sabha. In such a situation, technically, AAP candidates have won unopposed without voting. However, the official announcement will be made on March 31.

In the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had performed brilliantly, winning 92 of the 117 seats. After this victory of AAP candidates in Punjab, now AAP party has 8 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. AAP already has 3 MPs from Delhi.
