Hotel owner commits suicide in Amritsar, woman used to blackmail, four-page suicide note recovered

Amritsar: A hotelier near a bus stand in Amritsar, Punjab, swallowed the poisonous substance late on Tuesday evening and committed suicide. Police of Kotwali police station has recovered a four-page suicide note from the deceased. Police have handed over the body to the family members after conducting a postmortem on Wednesday.

Investigating officer Gurmeet Singh Nagara said that the matter is under investigation. The hotelier's son Harmanpreet Singh says his father Kulwant Singh used to operate a hotel near the bus stand. His father had come in contact with a woman and her accomplices. Who started blackmailing his father.

According to information provided by the police, Kulwant Singh had also given an amount of Rs 10 lakh to the accused. Now the accused is again demanding Rs 10 lakh. Harmanpreet Singh told police that his father had been in a state of distress for a few days. Even when asked, he did not tell them anything and did it.  Police are currently investigating the entire case. Stay tuned for further information regarding the case.
