The counting of votes for the 117-member Punjab Assembly elections has begun at 8 am. After the polling for the Punjab Assembly elections on February 20, the counting of votes is going on today i.e. on March 10. In fact, this time in the state, the Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged as a major contender, while Congress is trying to retain power in a multi-cornered contest. The counting of votes has already begun at 8 am on Thursday.

In such a situation, counting is going on at 117 centres at 66 places. This time, a total of 1,304 candidates, including 93 women and two transgenders, are in the fray in the Punjab Assembly elections. So far, the trends of 5 seats in Punjab have come, on two, the Congress is ahead on two, the Aam Aadmi Party is ahead on two and the Akali Dal on one. With this, in the initial trends, the AAP party has taken a lead over Congress in Punjab, AAP is leading in three seats.

The trends are changing in a little while and which candidates are eyeing the 2022 Assembly elections are Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Shiromani Akali Dal's Sukhbir Badal, AAP's CM candidate Bhagwant Mann, Captain Amarinder Singh, Parkash Singh Badal, Navjot Sidhu, Ashwani Sharma, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
