Between the lockdown and the corona crisis, each state is doing its best to eradicate the virus. But the relaxation of lockdown has spoiled the whole math. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced to extend the lockdown in the state by four more weeks till June 30. He said that according to the guidelines of the Central Government, a decision will be taken to relax some more. Although experts have not advised to open the hospitality industry and the mall, but the Chief Minister said that the next step will be taken by the state government keeping in mind the central government guidelines for lockdown 5.0.

The Chief Minister on Saturday announced the decision to increase the lockdown after taking stock of the corona epidemic ground situation through video conferencing with senior officials and health experts including Cabinet Ministers Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Balbir Singh Sidhu and Trupt Rajindra Singh Bajwa.

This step will be on the lines of the central government's decision to increase the lockdown after 31 May. Amarinder gave orders to distribute free masks to the poor. He instructed Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu to take urgent steps to distribute masks with ration kits to the needy and poor, who cannot afford masks. In response to a question, the Chief Minister said that he has not stopped private buses from being run in villages and the decision in this regard is to be taken by private bus owners.
