Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday appealed to create a silent zone in the entire Punjab for 1 hour to pay tribute to the people who lost their lives due to corona in Punjab. But the Punjab CM did not see any effect in this appeal in Punjab. Instructions were issued by the Punjab government to stop the inter-city and inter-district traffic during this period.

There were also orders to keep silence on the roads from 11 to 12 noon on Saturday and to keep mikes and loudspeakers of temples, mosques, and gurdwaras, and other places closed during this period. But these instructions and appeals of the Punjab government in Mohali proved to be unsuccessful and during this time the traffic on the roads appeared to be the same and people were seen playing horns of vehicles, many people did not even follow the corona protocol.

At the same time, the people of Amritsar are also questioning this way of paying tribute by stopping traffic. During this time, ambulances going to the patients were also caught in a traffic jam. The parents along with the children were also stuck in the traffic. The Akali Dal has questioned the way the Punjab government has said that 1-2 minutes of silence is enough, while the Punjab government is forcibly stopping traffic on the roads for one hour.
