Amritsar: CM Captain Amarinder Singh has been forced to bow down amid tension with Navjot Singh Siddhu, who has been appointed as the new president of the Punjab Congress unit. Captain Amarinder Singh will attend the coronation ceremony of Navjot Singh Siddhu to be held at the Punjab Congress office on Friday. Four executive presidents along with Navjot Singh Siddhu will also take charge at the event.
Punjab Congress Working President Kuljit Nagara and Sangat Singh Giljiyan on Thursday visited Captain Amarinder Singh's house and invited him to attend the coronation ceremony. After which Captain Amarinder Singh has accepted his invitation. Amarinder Singh's media in-charge Raveen Thukral confirmed this and tweeted on Thursday evening. Raveen wrote in a tweet that CM Amarinder Singh has invited all MLAs, MPs, and senior party leaders to tea at Punjab Bhawan at 10 am on Friday. The Captain will then visit the Punjab Congress Bhawan and attend the coronation ceremony of the new President.
Captain Amarinder Singh may be attending the coronation ceremony to be held at Punjab Congress Bhawan on Friday but he has not yet congratulated new state president Navjot Singh Siddhu. Captain Amarinder Singh had stipulated that he would congratulate Siddhu only when he apologized for the indecency committed against him. Siddhu, however, is yet to apologize to Amarinder Singh. It is said that Amarinder Singh will forget all differences and participate in Siddhu's coronation programme at the behest of the party high command.
