Punjab's Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, introduced a new website, nri.punjab.gov.in, on Friday. The aim behind this initiative is to assist Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in resolving their concerns effectively. The website, crafted by the Governance Reforms department in collaboration with NIC, offers a range of resources and information regarding NRI affairs.

Mann emphasized that this user-friendly website is a groundbreaking step to ensure the well-being of NRIs and help them maintain connections with their homeland. It features comprehensive details on the NRI Police wing, Punjab State Commission for NRIs, and NRI Sabha.

The website functions as a one-stop destination, providing easy access to various facilities extended by the state government to NRIs. Services such as document attestation and access to different government schemes will be readily available with just a click. Moreover, the site includes contact information like helpline numbers, email addresses, and a WhatsApp complaint number for visitors' convenience.

Highlighting its features, Mann also mentioned that the website contains information about registered travel and immigration agencies affiliated with the Punjab government and the Ministry of External Affairs. Additionally, it includes a link to Punjab's centralized online complaint portal, enabling NRIs and others to register their grievances.

Anticipating significant benefits, Mann envisions the website as a catalyst in swiftly addressing issues encountered by NRIs, thereby offering substantial support to them.

In further initiatives, Mann disclosed plans for five NRI meets (milnis) scheduled for February in the upcoming year. These gatherings aim to promptly resolve problems faced by NRIs, demonstrating the government's commitment to their welfare.

Moreover, in a noteworthy move, the state government intends to establish a "Facilitation Center" at the International Terminal's Arrival Hall. This round-the-clock facility will aid NRIs and other passengers with various services such as information on arrival and connecting flights, taxi services, and assistance with lost luggage upon their arrival at the airport. Mann assured that the government is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of NRIs and is taking comprehensive steps to achieve it.
