Amritsar: All parties have unanimously passed a censure motion against the Central Government in the Punjab Assembly on Thursday over the increase in the jurisdiction of the Border Security Force (BSF) from 15 kilometers to 50 kilometers. The Central government has been asked by the Punjab government and all political party MLAs in the Punjab Assembly to immediately withdraw the order to extend the jurisdiction of the BSF issued on October 11, 2021, at the earliest. However, it is not yet clear why the Congress government is opposing the increase in the strength of the BSF, while the force protects the borders of the country.

Speaking on the issue of jurisdiction of BSF during the special session of the Punjab Assembly, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjeet Singh Channi appeared against the Central government over the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. CM Channi said that the central government has violated the rights of states by removing Section 370. Channi said that at the time of removal of 370, the Akali Dal was also part of the Central Government during that time, but they remained silent on the whole issue and at the same time the Central Government started interfering with the rights of the State Governments.

Hitting out at the Akali Dal, Channi said it is a traitor party in Punjab, which supported the Central government. CM Channi said no one allowed RSS and BJP to enter Punjab but the Akali Dal brought them to Punjab. Channi launched a major attack on RSS saying the Sangh is an enemy of Punjab.
