Amritsar: Punjab's Congress government has planned to provide legal aid as well as financial assistance to the Red Fort miscreants. It may be recalled that on Republic Day (January 26, 2021), farmers hoisted a religious flag at the Red Fort in the name of a tractor march in Delhi, misbehaved with women, and injured hundreds of policemen. The Punjab Government has been supporting these miscreants since its inception.

In Punjab, assembly elections are proposed next year. The Congress has been suffering from infighting and Navjot Singh Sidhu has been given responsibility for CM Captain Amarinder Singh by giving him the command of the state. The Congress seems to be back in the process of tasting the cream of the 'Kisan Andolan' by supporting the Miscreants of the Red Fort. Congress wants to win the Punjab elections by supporting all the miscreants against whom Delhi police have registered cases.

According to media reports, a committee headed by Congress MLA Kuldeep Vaid on behalf of the Punjab assembly is recording statements of about 100 farmers who were involved in the Red Fort riots. So far, statements of 60 such farmers have also been recorded and statements of 10 farmers were also recorded on Friday (July 30, 2021). The farmers led by Deep Sidhu had committed violence in the Red Fort complex. The committee will also recommend legal assistance as well as compensation to them.
