Amritsar: There has been a political uproar over the appointment of G Gadish Tytler as a permanent member of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee. From Delhi to Punjab, the political mercury has gone up. Opposition parties have opened a front against Congress. At the same time, questions are also being raised inside the party. Punjabi opposition Shiromani Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have launched an aggressive offensive against Congress.

The 1984 anti-Sikh riots accused Jagdish Tytler's appointment as a permanent member of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee has been described by the Shiromani Akali Dal and the BJP as sprinkling salt on the wounds of Sikhs. Punjab Congress leaders themselves have also questioned Jagdish Tytler's nomination. Former Punjab Congress unit president Sunil Jakhar has also joined the leaders who questioned it. Sunil Jakhar has said that Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi and senior leader Ambika Soni must have been consulted before Jagdish Tytler's nomination.

Jakhar said the appointment of Jagdish Tytler is a sensitive issue that could affect the politics of Punjab. Tell us that Tytler has been appointed at a time when the Punjab CM is in Delhi and has held a long meeting with Ambika Soni as well as Rahul Gandhi. On the other hand, the Akali Dal has praised Sunil Jakhar for his statement.
