Amritsar: Punjab Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa's son-in-law has been made an additional advocate general of the state. On Monday, the opposition criticized the state government and accused it of nepotism. According to an official order, lawyers Tarun Veer Singh Lehal and Mukesh Chander Berry have been made additional advocate generals with immediate effect in the Punjab office.

Tarun Veer Singh Lehal is the son-in-law of Punjab Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Randhawa owns the Home Ministry. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha slammed Congress over Lehal's appointment saying only congress ministers and family members of MLAs are getting jobs in the state. He further said that Congress is fulfilling its main election promise of 'Har Ghar Naukri,' but has made minor changes. These people who get jobs are people from the families of Congress ministers and MLAs. The biggest name is that of deputy CM Randhawa's son-in-law. Channi is definitely carrying forward the legacy of the Captain.

On the other hand, Tarun Veer Singh Lehal has responded by saying that the appointment has been made on the recommendation of the Advocate General of the State on the basis of merit and experience. He further said, 'I have been practising in the High Court for nearly 13 years. If it's wrong to be someone's son-in-law, I don't know what to say.'
