Punjab faces threat from new corona variants, so many cases reported in a day

Ludhiana: The crisis of new variant omicrons is also on the rise amid a possible third wave of covid in Punjab. Three persons who landed at Amritsar airport from Italy have been reported to be covid positive. The samples have now been sent to Delhi for testing the new variant. Meanwhile, 42 new cases have been reported in Punjab on Sunday.

According to the health department, samples of 16461251 people have been tested. The report of 603739 people confirmed the infection. The good thing is that people have recovered 586735 by taking health in various hospitals in the state. So far, 16619 people have lost their lives due to infection. 30 infected people admitted to various hospitals in the state have been put on oxygen support in case of difficulty in breathing. The condition of 10 infected persons is said to be critical and have been kept in critical care unit. Out of the total 42 infected, 9 have been found to be inhopur, 7 in Pathankot, 5 in Ludhiana, 4-4 in Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, 3 in Mohali, 2 each in three districts and 1 each in four districts.

385 active cases raise concerns: The ever increasing number of active cases in the state has added to the health department's concern. Active cases have increased to 385 in 20 days. The figure of active cases was recorded less than 200 at the beginning of the month.
