Chandigarh: In protest against the new agriculture bill set by the Central Government by issuing an ordinance, different farming organisations blocked the beas bridge under the Amritsar-Delhi National Highway on Monday. The farmers sitting on this bridge connecting Amritsar-Jalandhar raised slogans against the centre. There were long queues of trains on both sides of the bridge due to road jams.

After getting information about the jam, sub-Inspector Harjinder Singh of Thana Dhalth arrived at Beas Bridge with the police force. They removed the drivers from the other route. The drivers had to face a lot of difficulty due to this route towards the villages. Till the news was written late in the evening, the Farmers 'organisations continued sit in on Beas Bridge. The police officers were requesting them to open the route but the farmers did not listen to them.

On Monday, on the call of the All India Farmers Struggle Coordination Committee, the various farmer had a fury rally in the cereal market. There was a demand for postponement of the Electricity Amendment Bill 2020, including withdrawal of the farming ordinances passed by the Central Government. All India Kisan Struggle Coordination Committee President Darshan Pal said that the farming ordinances passed by the Central Government, where the farmers across the country have created a furore, anger and insecurity, especially the farmers of Punjab and Haryana.
