Chandigarh: The Punjab government has banned the transfer of officers and employees till March 31, 2021, in view of the situation of Corona in the state. All the department heads have been warned by the decision of the government on behalf of the state government's personnel department. In the letter issued by the same Personnel Department, it has been said that on July 17, the state government had instructed to complete the transfers and postings of officers and employees in all government departments and institutions by August 31, 2020.

But it has come to the notice of the state government that even after the due date, the process of transfer and posting of officers and employees is going on by many departments. In the same letter, keeping in view the situation of COVID-19, the transfer and postings have been completely banned in the government departments till March 31, 2021, on the orders of the government. Even after this, if any transfer is necessary due to any unavoidable reasons, then it will have to be approved by the CM through the Personnel Department. The same is currently prohibited on transfers.

On the other hand, after four days in the country, less than 95 thousand cases of COVID-19 virus have been reported today.
