In view of the growing case of epidemic corona in Punjab, Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu have banned departmental transfers and holidays till 30 September. This instruction will be implemented with immediate effect. Balbir Sidhu said that decision has been taken keeping in mind the current situation of Corona.

He said that it has been observed that it has necessary for all officers / medical staff / para-medical staff to be stationed at their stations to complete the campaign launched against Covid-19 more thoroughly. During this period, no leave will be given to any officer/employee.

Only maternity leave and child care leave cases will be allowed for the most urgent reason. Sidhu said that order will be applicable to all the employees working on the contract / outsourcing basis in various wings/institutions besides regular officers/employees of the Health and Family Welfare Department. On the other hand, 39 died in Punjab from Corona. The Ludhiana district of the state has been the worst affected for a week and 13 of the 39 patients killed are from Ludhiana. With this, the total number of people who died of corona in the state has reached 675. During this, 1020 new positive cases of Corona have also been confirmed in the state in 24 hours. Among them, the maximum number of 229 cases has been reported in Ludhiana. The total number of corona victims in the state has increased to 26909. Meanwhile, 422 patients are reported to be healthy. maximum of 190 patients of Ludhiana have recovered and returned home.
