The Punjab government reportedly has withdrawn The Deputy Superintendent of Police rank given to Indian women’s cricket team twenty 20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

Harmanpreet Kaur landed in the controversy over her graduation degree. The decision of her rank withdrawal was taken by the state government after an investigation was confirmed that her degree was fake.

Worth mention here Harmanpreet was earlier the employ of the Indian Railways. She was relieved from her duties earlier in 2018 after she appealed to join Punjab Police.

Harmanpreet Kaur is a native of Moga. The Punjab government had also taken up the issue with the Railway Ministry to give up the bond condition and permit Harmanpreet to join as a DSP in Punjab Police from March 1.

According to the Punjab government written letter she is only class 12 passout, she can be retained in Punjab Police department only as a constable.

The letter further read that though the state government has decided to withdraw the DSP rank, they would not take legal action against Harmanpreet, citing her international status as an Indian cricketer.
