Amritsar: A bike-borne family was run over by an unidentified vehicle in Punjab's Amritsar. In this tragic accident, two children including the husband and wife died on the spot. After the death of the parents, two other daughters of the couple are now orphaned. According to the report, the bike rider was returning home from his in-laws' house with his wife and two children, when a vehicle ran over everyone on the way. Police have started investigating the case.
The bodies of men, women and children were spotted near the canal of Sarangdev village under the Ajlana police station area of Amritsar on Sunday morning. A bike was lying nearby. The incident was reported to the police. On being traced, the deceased was identified as Surjeet Singh. The police contacted his family and informed them about the accident. The deceased's brother told the police that Surjeet was my elder brother. On Saturday, with his sister-in-law and two children, he had gone on a bike to attend an event. When I last spoke to him, my brother had said he would return. After this, his death was reported.
According to the report, Surjeet, a confectioner by profession, died in a road accident along with his wife and two children. He also has two more daughters, whom he left at home. Now the shadow of parents has been lifted from the heads of daughters forever. The brother of the deceased Surjeet has expressed the possibility of the death of his brother's family due to an illegal excavator vehicle. He says that illegal sand mining is at its peak in the area. Here, heavy illegal sand vehicles keep coming out of the narrow and village route. If not, one of those vehicles must have hit the brother's bike and trampled everyone to death.
