Amritsar: A soul-chilling case has come to light from the Gurdaspur district of Punjab. Police have arrested 11 people who killed live cows in an illegal slaughterhouse here by putting a rope in their noses, tying their legs and hitting them on the head with a hammer. According to media reports, police have arrested 11 persons from an illegal slaughterhouse between Kalyanpur and Badesha village of Dhariwal and registered a case against them by conducting a drive from 1.30 pm to 5 am on Monday (October 11, 2021).

All of them are alleged to have been brutally killing cows. Police said, three cows were stabbed in the head with a hammer and killed by the accused when they handed over the challan. While one cow was lying on the ground in a state of disrepair, four were rescued by a police team. Police rescued all the accused after arrest and rushed the injured cows to the animal hospital. Meanwhile, further action is being taken by conducting a postmortem of the dead cows. According to the report, the police have arrested Haddarodi mastermind Niamat Christ resident Tarija Nagar, Ravi resident Chak Dhariwal, Vicky son James Christ resident Tarija Nagar, Ravi Putra Niamat Christ Tarija Nagar, Thomas Christ son James Christ, Jasam Christ son Kunnan Christ, Joni son Happy, Tarija Nagar, Balkar Christ son Sardar Christ Tarija Nagar, Wasik, Nasak and Tanveer resident Nanauta, A case has been registered against Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Mastermind Niamat Christ has reportedly been working here for a long time to kill cows and sell their meat. A 20 feet high pile of animal skeletons has been recovered here. On the other hand, SSP Gurdaspur Dr Nanak Singh said that all the accused in the case have been arrested. He said that we had received information that some people were taking the cows to village Kalyanpur and killing them there and selling them in raw mass packets. This was followed by a night-time operation by a heavy police force including DSP Rajesh Kakkar and his team. Police recovered a large number of live and injured cows in the operation till 5 am. At the same time, severed organs of cows have also been found.
