Punjab Police arrests 'Gurmail Singh' for wishing PM Modi a long life

Amritsar: Gurmail Singh Khalsa, husband of Rajpal Kaur, a woman sarpanch of Beed Pond village in Bathinda in Punjab, has been arrested by the local police on Thursday. According to media reports, Gurmail Singh had offered ardas for the longevity of PM Narendra Modi. Police have arrested Gurmail Singh for hurting religious sentiments on the complaint of lawyer Harpal Singh Khara.

Gurmail Singh in his prayer reportedly praised PM Narendra Modi for announcing the BJP's face CM the Dalit community in Punjab and had offered ardas for his longevity. At the same time, he mentioned in his Ardas about the dishonour of Guru Granth Sahib by a family and his inability to get justice. Gurmail said two families are looting Punjab so a Scheduled Caste person should be made CM. He also spoke of the release of the Dera chief.

Asking for the long life of the country's PM Modi, Gurmail praised the decision in which he said that this time the CM in Punjab will be made from the Dalit community. Bathinda Thana Sadar SHO Bant Singh confirmed that police have arrested the accused after registering a case against him.
