Punjab Police Bust Interstate Organized Crime Syndicate

Chandigarh: As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance safety and security in Punjab, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police have dismantled an interstate organized crime syndicate. The operation led to the arrest of the syndicate's kingpin and four members from a flat in Kharar, according to officials on Monday.

Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, identified the syndicate's leader as Jai Sharma, also known as Sukha Pistol Ambarsarya, a resident of Prem Nagar in Amritsar.

The four arrested members are:

Nikhil Sharma, alias Lala, of Sandhu Colony in Amritsar
Moni of Kot Khalsa in Amritsar
Arpit Thakur of Sri Naina Devi, Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh
Karan Sharma of Sri Naina Devi, Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh
DGP Yadav noted that Sukha Pistol has a criminal record with seven cases related to the Arms Act, snatching, and theft.

During the operation, police teams recovered two 32-bore pistols, three magazines, and eight live cartridges from the suspects. DGP Yadav explained that based on reliable intelligence, police had learned that Sukha Pistol and his accomplices had traveled to Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh to acquire illicit weapons. Upon their return, police teams tracked their movements and located them in Kharar, leading to their arrest.
