So far, 7 officers and 6 policemen of the Excise Department have been suspended.

In this case, Taran Taran's SSP has already suspended 2 station in-charge and 1 DSP. The police are now investigating what these officers have with the drug dealers? While 12 people died in Amritsar and 9 in Gurdaspur's Batala.

To curb such mafias, the state government needs to take immediate steps. The matter should be immediately handed over to the CBI as there has been no redressal of the local police for illegal liquor cases for the past few months.
