Sangrur: Three employees of the department team who came to check the power meters in Punjab's Sangrur district were taken hostage by the farmers union, after which the Bhawanigadh police had to reach the spot to rescue the employees. The hostage employees could be rescued from the farmers.

The incident is from Nagra village under Sangrur district where 3 people of the electricity department were arrested by the people of the village and the farmers union, including 1 SDO and 2 JE of the electricity department. A team from the electricity department came to check the electricity meter installed in the village, which included XEN, SDO, JE and other employees, high officials of the electricity department.

According to the people of the village, six people came into the village at 5:00 pm and started checking the electric meters installed outside the people's homes, in the meantime, the employees switched off the electricity by removing the electric meters of the 2 houses in the village. After which the farmers union gathered and they surrounded the employees of the electricity department. The farmers had said that we will not leave them till the electricity of the houses is restarted, after which the police rescued the power workers in the middle.
