NEW DELHI: India's legendary women's badminton player has added another reputation to her name. Forbes Magazine has brought out a list of the top 15 highest-earning female players in the world. At the top of the list is American tennis player Serena Williams. Sindhu is the only badminton player in the list and India is the only player in the list who is ranked 13th. Serena Williams has grossed $29.2 million, or about Rs 207 crore.

Sindhu's total earnings are $5.5 million, or Rs 38.9 crore. Out of Serena's total earnings, the prize money is close to Rs 207 crore, while the advertisement earns Rs 177 crore. Sindhu's prize money is Rs 3.54 crore, while the advertisement earns Rs 35.4 crore. According to Forbes, Sindhu, the first Indian to win the BWF World Tour Finals in 2018, is the highest-demand athlete in the Indian market.

The highest earner is 12 players in Forbes' top 15 list of tennis, while football, badminton, and golf are one player each. American footballer Alex Morgan, Indian badminton player PV Sindhu, and Thailand golfer Aria Jutanugarn are on the list. Forbes has only one tennis player in the top 11 on this list. US's Alex Morgan is 12th in the list with an earnings of 41 crore rupees, only two crore rupees ahead of PV Sindhu. PV Sindhu occupies 13th place in the list.
