Flight services restored between Qatar and Saudi Arabia after three years from January 11

New Delhi: Relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar are seeing a steady improvement. Now, after three years, the restoration of mutual flights has been announced. Flights will start from today between Doha and Riaz. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday announced an end to the rift.

Qatar's National Airlines also tweeted and announced that the flight to Saudi Arabia would be restored. The service will be restored from Riyadh on Monday, January 11, 2021, followed by flights from Jeddah on Thursday, January 14, and From Dammam on Saturday, January 16. Just a few days ago, Saudi ARB, UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt have restored ties with Qatar. It may be noted that in June 2017, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, and Bahrain imposed a ground, maritime, and air embargo accusing Qatar of biasing terrorism. However, Qatar had rejected all these allegations in the end.

Qatar is a very small but very rich country in the Gulf countries. India has had good relations with Saudi and Qatar and has about 7 million Indians living in Qatar. India and Qatar remained in high-level contact during the Corona epidemic. According to official data, India and Qatar had a trade of $10 billion in 2019-20. Now, after the relationship between Qatar and Saudi Arabia has improved, the business relations between India and Qatar can see a further height.
