5G remains the preferred feature for smartphone maker companies this year. Almost all smartphone maker companies have launched their 5G devices. Most of the devices have been launched with processors like Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, Snapdragon 765G, MediaTek Density 800, Density 1000. OEM's are offering SD865 for premium devices. While the SD765 5G processors are the first choice of manufacturers for the mid-range. OnePlus, Motorola, Realme, OPPO, Xiaomi have launched their flagship 5G devices with SD865 SoC this year. Qualcomm has launched another processor SD690 5G for mid and budget range 5G devices. Nokia 7.3 5G smartphone can be launched with this processor.

SD600 series processors are used in many mid-range smartphones. SD700 series processors are used in mid and upper mid-range devices. Whereas, the SD800 series is mainly used in flagship devices. Talking about the SD690 5G processor, it has been launched for 5G smartphones with a price range of Rs 20,000 to 30,000. Smartphones like Google Pixel 3a, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Motorola One Zoom come with SD600 series processors. Talking about SD690 chipset processor, it supports the X51 5G modem which supports both NSA and SA modes. Also, features like dynamic spectrum sharing are also provided in it. Users can get downlink speeds of up to 2.5Gbps.

Additionally, this processor will support the Sub 6GHz 5G spectrum. It comes with a 2GHz octa-core CPU that supports two Cortex A77 and six Cortex A55 cores. It has an Adreno 619L GPU for graphical performance. This processor will perform 20 percent better than the SD675 processor. Also, it can support FHD + display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Because of which users can get a better gaming experience. It gives 70 percent better AI gaming performance than the SD675. With this processor, manufacturers such as HMD Global (Nokia), Motorola, LG, Sharp, TCL and WingTech will launch their devices in the second half of the year.
