New Delhi: The country is currently facing the challenge of black fungus amid the corona virus epidemic. Injections required to treat black fungus disease are also being brought from abroad. The same issue was heard in the Delhi High Court on Thursday. The court has questioned the Central government as to why import duties on black fungus medicines are so high, while the same medicine is used to save lives.

The High Court, during the hearing, said that these medicines are currently saving lives, so the Central Government should remove customs duty or import duty on such medicines as long as there is a shortage of these medicines in the country. The High Court has responded to the issue by the Central Government that the court's remarks will be conveyed to the CBDT and the Finance Ministry, which will be decided in the next day or two. The High Court has directed that if a person asks for black fungus medicines, he will only need to pay a bond, not any duty.

Let us tell you that the cases of black fungus have suddenly increased amid the second wave of corona in the country. So far more than 10,000 cases have been registered across the country. Amphotericin injections used in black fungus disease are currently in india, and are being imported from outside.
