New Delhi: The survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque continues to be under constant controversy. However, in the meantime, there is also a controversy about the Qutub Minar located in the country's capital Delhi. According to some media reports that have surfaced, the excavation will be carried out at the historic monument, the Ministry of Culture has directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to dig and iconography of the idols at the Qutub Minar. Recently, Dharamveer Sharma, the former regional director of ASI, made a big claim that 'Qutub Minar was built not by Qutub al-Din Aibak but by King Vikramaditya, Qutub Minar is a sun tower that was built to study the direction of the sun.''

The Ministry of Culture has also asked the ASI to submit its excavation report, so the excavation can be started soon at a distance of 15 meters from the mosque to the south of the Qutub Minar. On the other hand, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Govind Mohan decided on a site visit with officials on Saturday, May 21. Govind Mohan is said to have visited the site along with 3 historians, 4 ASI officials and researchers. At the same time, ASI officials told the secretary that no digging work has taken place in the Qutub Minar complex since 1991.

Earlier, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal had claimed that the Qutub Minar was a 'Vishnu pillar' and the structure was constructed from the debris found after the demolition of 27 Hindu-Jain temples. Many Hindu groups protested against it and chanted the Hanuman Chalisa on the premises of the Minar. Not only this, but he demanded to change the name of Qutub Minar to Vishnu Stambh, as the 1200-year-old idol of Lord Narasimha, the idols of Lord Ganesha and Lord Krishna were found inside the Qutub Minar. Apart from the Qutub Minar, there will also be excavation in the RedKot Fort and Anangtal of Mehrauli.
