R Madhavan is in news not because of his movie  Rocketry but because of his son Vedaant’s achievement due to which he had the pleasure of meeting Odisha’s chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

 Vedaant Madhavan recently won a gold medal in 1500m freestyle at the 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships. On Thursday, R. Madhavan with his wife Sarita and son Vedaant met with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Sharing pictures of the occasion on his Instagram handle, Madhavan expressed his gratitude towards the Odisha CM  the actor wrote, “Such a pleasure to meet with honorable CM & very dynamic Shri @Naveen_Odisha Ji. Thank you so much for the kind hospitality & the most fantastic endeavor of putting Odisha firmly on one of the Best  sports Venue map of India-Your commitment for the future of sports is invigorating."

The actor has also shared two pictures in one Naveen Patnaik and Vedaant are clicked holding an Odisha jersey. In another one, Madhavan, Sarita, Vedaant, and Naveen are seen discussing something and in the last one, they posed for a picture.

This is not the first time when Vedaant Madhavan made his father proud earlier Vedaant had won gold in the men's 800m freestyle at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Celebrities such as Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra, and many others congratulated him on social media.

Now he had broken his own record to which Madhavan wrote, “Never say never. National Junior Record for 1500m freestyle broken." Swimmer Advait Page who was the previous record holder congratulated Vedaant for his stellar success. He wrote, “Super happy for Vedaant. Congratulations."
