Following the birth of her second kid, Rachel Platten opened up about her postpartum anxiety. The singer, 40, and her husband, Kevin Lazan, had their second child, Sophie Jo, on Sept. 9, and the mother shared a photo of her younger kid with her on Instagram on Tuesday, discussing the "emotional rollercoaster" of postpartum worry.

"This was a difficult piece for me to write. In fact, I took a two-month hiatus from social media as a result of it. But here it is: I'm suffering from postpartum anxiety once more "Platten, who is also the mother of Violet Skye, a 22-year-old daughter, writes. I thought, I'll share about it when I'm 'better'. I'll have a really powerful story about how i overcame it. And everyone will think oh she's so strong bla bla."

"But," she continues, "f—- that." "I don't want another single mother to endure the same guilt, loneliness, and anxiety that I felt if reading about my experience RIGHT NOW might assist you. Because if you think you're alone, this may be hell." According to Platten, the "truth" of the postpartum experience is not communicated "enough," since "so frequently moms are astonished because it is nothing like they expected."

Meanwhile, Platten paid tribute to Lazan on Father's Day earlier this year, according to media, by uploading a compilation of beautiful photos of him and his kid. "You are the most amazing parent and husband, and we are really fortunate," she said at the time. "Happy Father's Day, Kevin," she tweeted at the time. "We're so glad you're our guy."
