New Delhi: Rafael fighter aircraft company Dassault Rafale Aviation has rejected a report by French media outlet MediaApart claiming that the company had given € 1.1 million as a bribe to an Indian company. Dassault Rafale has said that there has been no violation of rules in the sale of 36 Rafale aircraft to India in this government-to-government deal.
Dassault Rafale said the deal was monitored by several other official organizations, including the French Anti-Corruption Agency. No infringement has been done in Rafael or any deal with India. The company said that it fulfills all the rules and norms related to 36 Rafale fighter aircraft contracts and offset agreements with India. Issuing a statement on 8 April on allegations of corruption, it stated that "it has enforced stringent rules to prevent corruption, guarantee the integrity, ethics of the company in industrial and commercial relations. Keeping in mind the Sapin 2 law, the company has implemented strict rules in the parent company and its subsidiaries".
Dassault Rafale has also reported that he and the Reliance Group had set up the Dassault Rafale Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) joint venture in 2017. A plant has also been constructed at Nagpur, which has been producing Falcon parts and pieces since 2018. Falcon is the largest commercial jet manufacturer in France's aviation sector.
