Barcelona [Spain], Apr 29 (NT): The 31-year-old top-ranked Spaniard world-class tennis player Rafael Nadal on Sunday clinched his 11th Barcelona Open title, as he digged up the better of Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece in straight sets.

Spanish tennis player won 6-2, 6-1 as he continued his supremacy on the soil surface.

Nadal won his 400th match in the semifinal on Saturday in opposition to Belgium's David Goffin in straight sets (6-4, 6-0), needed just a win to consolidate to his World No. 1 ranking.

World No. 63 Tsitsipas, who was facing ACE Nadal for the first time, did not put better efforts against the Spaniard, in terms of smart moves.

Worth mentioning here the 19-year-old Tsitsipas was aiming to be the victor an inaugural ATP Tour Title since 1973 and was also the youngest ever to advance the finals of any most important tennis tournament. Tsitsipas was the first Greek to make it to an ATP final since Nicholas Kalogeropoulos in 1973.

Tsitsipas committed 23 unforced errors in the 77-minute loss on the Pista Rafa Nadal main show court, with short rain disturbance.

On a related note Nadal won his 55th title on his soil and 77th title taken as a whole. (NT)
