Rafale Deal: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman says, "HAL got contracts worth Rs 26,570 crore"

New Delhi: After the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Monday said that contracts amounting to 26000 crores have been signed with HAL and orders 73,000 crore are in pipeline.

Speaking in Parliament, Defence Minister said that  "I have received confirmation from HAL that contracts during 2014-18 worth Rs 26,570.80 crore have already been signed with HAL. Orders worth Rs 73,000 Cr approx are in the pipeline,"

 Earlier on Sunday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi accused  Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of speaking lie in Parliament that government orders worth Rs one lakh crore were provided to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), while demanding that she should either place the documents in support of her statement in the House or resign. He further said that Tomorrow, RM must place before Parliament documents showing 1 Lakh crore of Govt orders to HAL. Or resign.

Earlier, on Friday Defence Minister shared the details regarding HAL's order book. Congress chief on Sunday cited some news reports and alleged that she was 'spinning lies' on Rafale deal.
