New Delhi: PM Modi led NDA government on Monday submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court in link with the Rafale case, in which it presented a short summary of the procurement process of the deal for the French fighter jet planes. Markedly, besides the nine-page affidavit, the ruling government has also submitted the decisive price details of the deal to the top court in a sealed cover, which had been sought by the top court.

PM Narendra Modi government assured the apex court in the affidavit that all requisite steps had been taken in the Rafale deal and all defense procurement process was followed in acquiring the 36 Rafale jets.

In its affidavit, the Centre said that procurement process as laid down in the Defence Procurement Procedure-2013 was followed in the procurement of 36 Rafale aircraft.  Besides this The Centre also stated that the approval of the Defence Acquisition Council had been taken.

Earlier opposition parties including the Congress had cornered PM Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over their negative response to share the pricing details of the deal with the Parliament.  The opposition has over and over again asked the Modi Cabinet to tell the price of 36 Rafale aircraft.  Prices had been renegotiated by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government on Rafale deal.
