Rahul Dravid to take over a new role at National Cricket Academy

Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid will now be in charge of the BCCI's National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru where he will be looking after the next generation of Indian cricketers and groom them to be ready for bigger roles in future. 

As per the report, The designation of  Dravid at the NCA is not yet confirmed.  The announcement regarding his role will be soon made by the Committee of Administrator (CoA). As per the report, Dravid will be responsible for the appointment of coaches in academies across the country including the ones at the NCA in Bengaluru.

A source told TOI, "Rahul has been handling junior cricket for a while now and the results have been phenomenal. It's only natural that he had to get involved with affairs at the NCA (in the present position). Now, he's determined to bring about a complete turnaround at the academy. With the kind of vision he has, it's already a given now that this is his role until he decides to stay.”

Dravid, who scored over 25,000 runs in international cricket and is often referred as Mr Dependable or the Great Wall of Indian cricket. He has remained associated with cricket after hanging his boots as a player and has over the years, played a big role in shaping careers of several young cricketers including the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal to name a few.
