New Delhi: Former Team India captain and current National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian cricket team for three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka in July. He had earlier served as batting consultant during his tour of England in 2014.

Talking to the media, an official of the BCCI who was aware of the developments confirmed this. He said Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathore will be in England along with Test Team India. Dravid will take over as coach for the tour of Sri Lanka. The official said, "The coaching staff of the Indian cricket team will be in England and it would be better that the young team is guided by Dravid. He has already worked with almost all India 'A' players. The youth feel good with them. This will be of additional benefit".

Before taking over as NCA Chief in 2019, Dravid had worked closely with the youngsters in the Under-19 level as well as the India 'A' team. In fact, he has played an integral role in creating a solid bench strength for the national team in the last few years.
