 Today Congress marks its 133rd foundation day. It has to be said that the last three years have almost certainly been the toughest since the inception of the party on December 28, 1885.

On 133rd foundation day of Congress, Rahul says Congress' duty is to protect Constitution as put emphasis on that it is the duty of his party and the countrymen to support the Constitution and rights of all Indians.

Gandhi ‘s scion said the Congress Party was mutually responsible for getting independence to the nation, as well as in drafting the Constitution that bestow equal rights to all citizens, but that it has come on the direct attack by the ruling saffron  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Calling attention to on the central idea of the Congress being the desirable quality of truth, Rahul Gandhi said the party "accepts the truth, works with the truth."

After delivering his address in the ceremony, the Congress president also distributed sweets among children at the headquarters.

The Congress Party was established on December 28, 1885.

Earlier this month, Rahul Gandhi elected as uncontested president by taking over his mother, Sonia Gandhi to carried operations of the reins of the grand old party. (NT)
